Seismic Evaluation and Retrofit of the Boğaziçi University Institute for Data Science & Artificial Intelligence Building

Seismic performance evaluation and comprehensive retrofit design for an institutional building requiring multiple intervention strategies. The retrofit solution included addition of reinforced concrete structural walls to enhance lateral load resistance, foundation strengthening to accommodate redistributed demands, column jacketing, and selective use of carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) wrapping for beam strengthening. The project required coordination of multiple retrofit techniques and careful sequencing to address both global system deficiencies and local member-level vulnerabilities identified through performance-based assessment.
